Abstract

Apart from the health sector, the COVID-19 pandemic has also greatly affected the economic sector in Africa (Lone & Ahmad, 2020). Some of the challenges have manifested in the fall of commodity prices, reduced tourism, weakening of local currencies, increasing cost in maintaining health outcomes as well as high cost of managing the pandemic. These are factors that impact macro-economic growth and stability negatively. As the world repositions the global economy following the COVID-19 pandemic, international entrepreneurship and international trade dominate major scholarly and policy discussions. This adds urgency and scale to the collective and regional responses to economic, health, social and environmental challenges concerning bilateral relationships, regional security, trade integration and governance (Igwe, Ochinanwata & Madichie, 2021). This book provides timely and intriguing discussions about the interactions between marketing, internationalisation and gender in the development and growth of small- and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) in Africa as the continent strives to revive from the effects of COVID-19. 2024 selection and editorial matter, Robert E. Hinson, Doreen Nyarko Anyamesem Odame, Kojo Kakra Twum, Patient Rambe, Paul Agu Igwe & David Gamariel Rugara; individual chapters, the contributors.
