The use of technology in the classroom makes learning more pleasant and simpler. The utilization of technology in the classroom is becoming more prevalent in these modern times, especially in this COVID-19 era. In this chapter, we discuss the emerging trends in education including the incorporation of new technologies. Among the technologies covered in no particular order of importance are virtual reality, augmented reality, mobile learning devices, and the internet of things. We evaluate the potential impact of emerging technologies on university teaching and learning. The technology education tools, including headsets, handsets, computers/laptops, electronic readers and online books, were identified in the literature. 2023 Bentham Science Publishers.
